Think of Alfea as your new home…
It’s spring, and Headmistress Dowling is organizing an orientation day for the students coming to Alfea next year. Stella volunteers to head the committee to welcome the new students, and she insists that her boyfriend, Sky, help out. But Sky is preoccupied with the bad behavior of his moody roommate, Riven.
Incoming students Aisha, Musa, and Terra are nervous about orientation day. Aisha is eager to prove that she can hold her own among the magical talents at Alfea… but Musa isn’t so sure the school is the right place for her. As for Terra, all she wants is to make friends with the other first years.
Meanwhile, Headmistress Dowling has a lead on a fairy living in the human world. This young girl, Bloom, has no idea of what lies before her… but her previously unknown powers are about to be put to the test.

As enjoyable as the first
I enjoyed the first Fate book, which summed up the first season of the show. This one is a prequel that covers the characters’ different points of view months before the show begins. It works well alongside the first book, despite being written by different authors. I especially enjoyed the backstory with Terra and Riven, as well as Riven and Sky’s shifting dynamic. If you’re a Riven fan, you’ll like this. Beatrix’s scenes were also fun. I liked getting in the heads of the characters to see their different mindsets before the events of the show began. The seeds are also sown for the Ricki incident, though it is not covered in the book. If you’re primarily a Bloom fan, there isn’t much of her here, which I was fine with. She dominates the first book. I found this a nice addition to the Fate world and it has me even more looking forward to the second season of the show. Oh, and my favorite moment in the book is the mention of technology as a fairy power. There is hope for Tecna yet!

Silrah
Bought it for the Silrah content. Basically paid for a whole ass book for about 3 pages of content. The rest of it was teen drivel, and largely uninteresting teen drivel at that. Didnât really add to the canon at all.

Waste of your time
This book does not touch on the story of bloom except for one chapter and does not touch the story of Ricky blinding. I excepted more and was disappointed.

The book came shredded and the replacement is lost.
The book came all ripped up and when I ordered a replacement it immediately got âlostâ.

Rip from Richelle Mead much?
Poor copy of a actual brilliant author. Canât believe this was made into a Netflix show. My jaw is dropped at the imitations. I do not recommend.
