Only Light can balance Darkness.
Lio wakes in someone else’s battered body with plenty of questions but no answers. Who is he? Who are the strangers who rescued him? Why do they call him Tenebris and Darkness? And why does everyone treat him like a feral dog about to attack?
Bel Am’I’s home world of Domus died moments after his escape, trapping him in the human realm with a clear mission. As Light, he must prevent Darkness from destroying Terra and the Domusians who’ve escaped there. Failure will doom billions to certain death, but how can he locate and balance a single, hidden being who doesn’t want to be found?
A mysterious carnival unites Lio and Bel, who must work together to uncover Lio’s true identity and stop him from accidentally annihilating the world. Yet someone doesn’t want them to succeed, someone who will stop at nothing to achieve the total destruction of both realms—even pitting Light against Darkness.
The battle for the end begins…
Lighting the Darkness is part of the multi-author Carnival of Mysteries Series and a side story to Eden Winters’ Darkness. Each book includes at least one visit to Errante Ame’s Carnival of Mysteries, a magical, multiverse traveling show full of unusual acts, games, and rides. The Carnival changes to suit the world it’s on, so each visit is unique and special. This book contains characters from Darkness as well as new ones, alternate realms, a twist on soul mates, and bad guys. I mean, evil, horrible, terrible guys. Definitely the type you wouldn’t bring home to Mother. And one cookie-baking demon.

great!
While I recommend reading Darkness before this book (to avoid spoilers of that book) this can be read as a stand-alone. I loved Bel and Lio. Their story was sad and bleak at times, but I loved seeing them grow as people as they found their way, made new friends, and found a purpose. The integration of the carnival was well done and I liked that it wasnât just an afterthought to make the book work into the series theme.Definitely recommend
EQUUS –
You don’t want to miss this one If you loved Darkness
Lio wakes up in the desert battered and on the edge of dying (again) with no recollection who he really is, with glimpses of horrifying events that led him here in his head, but are this memories really his?Bel knows who he is although the body he’s inhabiting it’s not his original one. His task seems impossible – find Tenebris (Darkness) and balance it with his light to prevent destruction of Terra (Earth).I don’t want to add any spoilers so I’ll keep this short. This is urban fantasy you don’t wanna miss – especially if you’ve read Darkness. It can be read as a standalone, but it happens in the same universe and we get to meet the characters we love once again. The author’s imagination never disappoints – she always creates something unique even in established subgenres when we think we read it all. The characters are always well fleshed out including supporting ones. They are memorable and take the life of their own. The way she wrote one of them – Errante – made me itching for his story. It’s in this anthology. The opening scenes in this one caused a sleepless night because I just couldn’t stop reading until I passed out with my Kindle on. Lol. The plot is full of twist and turns, the developing relationship between Lio and Bel is touching (blue teddy bear on the cover should clue you in), they are hot together and the action scenes are sometimes heart stopping. They get their HEA it just might not be the one you’d expect. This book is a part of Carnival of Mysteries multiple authors collaboration. Each book can be read as a standalone in any order – the only common denominator is mysterious carnival that travels between realms to provide basic assistance and guidance when needed.
