Im not a fan of George Carlinâs standup. Loved him in Jersey girl. I liked the tv show starring Jerry Seinfeld. The Deal is my favorite episode. Not a fan of his standup.White stand up tends to bore me. I watch Dane so I could understand what my friend was talking about when referring to jokes Dane tellsDane is funny as hell. I could not stop laughing. Love him. His stand up is why I will give other white comics a chance now.

Dane Cook used to be a big star back in the day. He uses juvenile humor to criticize and identify with generation X’ers. He seems to be speaking to the child in all of use that never grew up, and that is why his fans identity with him. Dane has a huge crowd in this special, and they are strongly rooting for him. This was almost as enjoyable for me as Chapelle’s comeback specials. Old fans of Dane wont be disappointed. So why so many 1 star reviews? I firmly believe that Dane Cook represents one of the first early incidents of fan trolling. Somewhere, somehow, at the peak of his popularity, it becomes insanely cool to say that you hated Dane Cook. It was a trend that defied any reason or explanation or justification. And ironicly it was those same Gen X’ers that identified with Cook that were now rebelling against him. Now, those gen x’ers are a little older and what they remember of Cook was how cool it was to dis him. I am glad to see him come back nice and strong to his stand up roots and childish style. If you can look at Dane with fresh eyes you should be smirking throughout the show and at some points laughing out loud, or LOL. Stupid trolls.

Dane Cook’s “Vicious Circle” Is Well Named! Buyer Be Ware!
I bought this dvd gift set for my 16 year old son as a Christmas gift. He absolutely loves Dane Cook. As any good parent would, I watched a few of Dane Cook’s stand up comedy routines with him that aired on The Comedy Channel, and while I prefer a different type of humor then this man is known for, I did find him a little funny during certain parts in his comedy routine but he is definitely more for the younger crowd.I should have realised when I bought this dvd, that because it was an HBO comedy special, it would be loaded with inappropriate language and inuendos. But because I was so desperate to find that “perfect gift” for my son, I ordered it without giving it too much thought. This man uses the “F” word almost like a second language, and seems to base much of his “comedy” on blatant sexual pantomimes and inuendos, my son being 16 years old, is the only thing that kept me from sending this one back. I am trying to let him make some of his own choices in the music and entertainment dept.One of the things that really bothered me about this particular performance, is that he seems to have absolutely no qualms about using blasphemous “comedy” when it comes to religion. Being a very spiritual person myself, I was very upset about this. He seems to harbor some deep resentment about his Catholic background, and seems to derive much of his “comedy” from this resentment, of course this is only by observed opinion.This dvd also came with a free t-shirt with the Dane Cook trade mark hand symbol. The t-shirt only came in one size, (small) so I am not at all surprised it was “free.” Given this man’s language and complete lack of respect for all things spiritual, it should have only come in an extra large!I do not want to end this review on a negative note, if you are into this type of humor, then Dane Cook is your man, however I would like to STRONGLY caution parents who are thinking of buying this for their children, especially if they are under the age of 16 to be ware!As always, Amazon shipped this to me in record time and in excellent condition. I plan on going through them often for future purchases, but I will definitely do my homework better pryer to buying.
