Reasonably-price, big improvement
Works like a charm on my Roland TD-27 module. Big improvement over the VH-10 I was using. Feels more like an acoustic hi-hat. Separate bow and edge sounds. No regrets here.

Excellent and Affordable Hi-hat
Upgraded from a one-piece hi-hat with an electronic pedal is a game changer. The mechanics of using a real hi-hat stand and the feedback is so much better. I’ve only used the hi-hat for a few weeks, but Lemon products decent quality – I have the 12 inch snare and both seem equivalent to Roland, at least for my needs. It makes many hi-hat parts that were difficult and unnatural with the CY5 way more possible and more fun with a real hi-hat stand.

I wasn’t expecting much but works pretty well

Instant game-changer for my kit!
Works flawlessly with my TD-11 module! Both zones are registering despite previous reviews having troubles with it. Setup was pretty straightforward.

Not for Alesis Nitro Max!
Well, dang! If you read my other review regarding the Alesis Nitro Max, youâll know that the hi hat is the weak part of that kit. I got this Lemon to try with the Nitro Max. Sadly, this is not fully compatible. First, if youâre going to try it, youâll need a 1/4 inch male to 1/8 inch female TRS adapter. The hi hat control cable of the Nitro Max terminates in an 1/8 inch male end. This Lemon cymbal stack only has 1/4 inch female jacks. So youâll need one adapter. Easy fix! The problem is that this Lemon hi hat set is dual zone only (I guess. Iâm not a MIDI expert. I donât know if itâs called dual zone or single zone). It only triggers full open or fully closed sounds on the Alesis Nitro Max module. The Nitro Max is 3 (or more like 4?) zone. The Nitro Max cymbal and pedal trigger foot hi hat, fully closed hat, half open hat, and fully open hat. So this aftermarket Lemon hi hat set will NOT trigger the foot hat nor the half open hat. MANY Hard Rock and Metal songs called for a half open hat sound. The best you can get with this on the Alesis Nitro Max is the fully open hat. That works for some Metal songs especially very hard songs with double bass drums blasting. Foot hat is commonly used it nearly every genre (and almost every song), especially Jazz. Bottom line, the limited zones on this hi hat stack eliminate a lot of nuance and flavor from whatâs possible on a hi hat. I really wanted this work work! Iâm bummed. It seems like a well made and good quality set. Itâs definitely expensive for what you get in the box! Iâm sure is decent for some e-drum kits, but itâs not going to fully work with your Alesis Nitro Max drum module.

Lemon hihat
Well broke my old lemon hihat, bought a replacement and it looks that they have made it stronger at the hihat rim, the rim looks a little thicker at the edges, but it’s a great hihat even the old ones that I had worked great, this seller has the best prices so far and they have good cymbals, I have bought 3 of there cymbals and they are holding up great ð ðð, thanks for providing decent prices on your merchandise that you sell.

Only last 2 weeks.
Worked great for the first two weeks after which the triggering broke. Canât play it closed at all and when it does trigger a single shot might trigger a double stroke or the wrong zone.

Finally an electronic hi-hat that plays naturally!
I have been playing drums for the last 20 years and have had various e-drum sets, drum pads, foot controllers, etc. These hi-hats are the first time I feel like I am getting the responsiveness and playability near what I get on an acoustic kit. And this translates well to MIDI output and using Superior Drummer There is always room for improvement with digital setups but this is really really good, wish I had these years ago.
