An Old-Fashioned Christmas indeed – and a real treasure
This is the best Christmas entertainment I’ve seen in some years. It is truly “old fashioned” in that it consists of beautiful. well-trained voices singing gorgeous music. The production values are understated, if a trifle kitschy at times, but that doesn’t matter. Above all, this celebrates the true meaning of Christmas through wonderful music. Gone are those days! Now, most network televised Christmas music shows avoid the religious side of Christmas; or those which do embrace it dumb down the musical side to the lowest common denominator. I am certain I will revisit this video during future Christmas seasons. I wish they’d bring out another volume or two, because they certainly don’t put on shows like this anymore.

An Old Fashioned Christmas
I enjoyed this video because it was shot in Angelica, NY which is very dear to me.

Not to my taste and not what I expected
It was OK but not what I was looking for. The music was nice but there was some kind of story line and it was cheesy. If you are only listening to the music you will be fine.

Christmas entertainment at its best!
These programs are lovely to watch and the music is delightful. Christmas celebrations were never more festive and enjoyable. If you love Christmas and quality entertainment, you will adore this DVD! Also, it arrived very promptly.

Reader’s Digest Canned Christmas Songs
This VHS tape has 44 canned Christmas songs and matching canned videos running for just under 2 hours. The artists for the music are unknown. The quality of the music is average to above average. The tape lacks excitement because there are so many songs and they do not seem that distinctive. I gave the video 4 stars instead of 3 due to the fact that some of the songs reach the level of 4 stars.

Not what I expected or ordered
10/07/201309:18 am An Old-Fashioned ChristmasThis was an album of Xmas songs not the sequelto the Hallmark movie, “An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving.”I returned the album.

You will not be disappointed with this Christmas DVD. A must for any Christmas DVD collections. May be necessary to change your screen format on newer HD TVs since these televised programs were done during the late 50s and early 60’s. A young, beautiful Florence Henderson hosts the first three programs and sings as well. The soundtrack itself would add to any Holiday gathering.

This DVD follows what seems to be one particular family and there wintry Christmas activities, with traditional songs and carols, at least one that I had not heard before. The scenery and locations is varied both inside and out, quite unique.
