Some lovely people will do very bad things to stay out of trouble in this gemlike whodunit from Emma Rosenblum, bestselling author of Very Bad Company and former executive editor at Elle.
When a $3 million Bulgari diamond necklace disappears into thin air during a locked photo shoot, the suspects are all on set. There’s the magazine’s new editor-in-chief with much to prove, the tarnished photographer she’s indebted to, the fallen star who swooped in when her young rival got sick, and the grandiose stylist. But it’s the lowly assistant who must solve the case—and find the gems before taking the blame.
Emma Rosenblum’s Crime of Fashion is part of Busybodies, a collection of quirky mysteries featuring amateur gumshoes who stumble upon peculiar cases. Calling all snoops! Read or listen to each arresting story in a single sitting.

Quick and easy read
It was an enjoyable read. It’s sort of a “Devil Wears Prada” who done it. And the nerdy girl wins the day!

mischief makers in mini mysteries
What do you get when you take a half dozen dynamic writers and set them free with the task of writing novellas about controlling family members, nosy neighbors, vengeful coworkers, and internet stars? That would be the Busybodies collection of short stories that combine mystery, humor, revenge, karma, and people with too much time on their hands. When a very expensive necklace goes missing during a fashion photography shoot, itâs the closet assistant who has to figure out what happened in Emma Rosenblumâs Crime of Fashion. Nellie is an OCD wannabe writer working for Elle in the fashion closet, organizing all the clothes and accessories that designers lean them. But when a $3 million necklace goes missing during a cover shoot, Nellie knows that she will be the one to lose her job if it doesnât show up. She has to plan out her investigation with the same sort of system she has for keeping the closet in perfect shape, if she wants to save the day and keep her job. These six stories are all about similar themes, but they couldnât be more different. They are smart and intriguing, and they all have twists you canât see coming. I enjoyed reading them all, and I loved getting a small glimpse into all these authorsâ minds. If youâre not interested in all of them, you can buy only the stories that you are drawn to, but for me, Iâm glad I read the whole collection. I wanted to read some because I am a big fan of Cosimano, Sutanto, and Prose. And now that Iâve read the stories by Garrett, Thompson, and Rosenblum also, Iâm a fan of theirs too. These are tasty appetizers, and now I want to read more.Egalleys for The Busybodies Collection were provided by Amazon Original Stories through NetGalley, with many thanks.

theft in high fashion
I’m not always a fan of short stories, but I’ve been picking up the stories in this collection to fill a little time and haven’t read them together. Bite size cozy mysteries with amateur sleuths to keep you guessing and entertained. All part of the busybodies collection. An expensive necklace goes missing at a fashion shoot and there is no shortage of suspects. A mish mash of characters made this entertaining. It definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously as everyone hunts for the necklace.Brittany Presley is one of my favorite narrators and brings this one to life. She is stellar in voicing the large cast and made me smile as I listened.

Mystery novella
I received a complementary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the author and the publisher. This novella is short and sweet. After a multi-million dollar necklace turns up missing at a magazine photoshoot everyone is a suspect. I enjoyed this story and liked the pace. The mystery is solved quickly and it has a cute little twist at the end. This book is part of the Busybodies Collection.

a very fun mystery with a great cast of characters
A glamorous photo shoot, a missing piece of some VERY expensive jewelry. Who is the culprit, and what could be their motive? For such a short story, there is a lot packed in here. Everyone feels unique, from our nervous heroine to the scheming boss (who has more layers to her than you’d expect). All the suspects feel plausible, but not too obvious, so the reader is kept in suspense about motives and who’s truly guilty. A solid mystery, with a satisfying reveal at the end.

Not a good listen to
No real plot, I did not even understand anything about what I just listened to and I had to rewrite my original review because this book is totally trash. Ugh ! Sorry if the truth hurts!
